Craigewan was formed in early 2012 with the ambition of creating a team capable of both conceiving and executing remarkable projects.
The origins of the business go back to 2001 when Craigewan’s founder, Jamie Buchan, was supported by Visionary Properties Ltd to undertake the transformation of the London International Exhibition centre Plc (ExCeL London).
Mr Buchan built a highly competent management team at ExCeL which turned the business around, gaining international acclaim and respect in the process. Mr Buchan and his team capitalised on their success by working with the London Borough of Newham and the London Development Agency to gain approval for the £150m Phase 2 extension of the Docklands facility. Advised by DP9, Phase 2 was designed by Grimshaw Architects and a building contract was negotiated with Sir Robert McAlpine. In 2008, Visionary Properties introduced a new investor which acquired ExCel and undertook the Phase 2 development which had been prepared.
It is this philosophy of working with the best people which Jamie sees as central to delivering the Craigewan vision.
Craigewan – our work

Working since 2012 as development manager alongside DP9 and architects Squire & Partners and Wilkinson Eyre Associates, this exceptional development gained planning consent from Westminster City Council in 2015.
